K-6 Clubs & Activities

Band: 5th & 6th Grade Band – Band uses composition/improvisation, performance, and music appreciation to help students grow into independent musicians.

Chess Club – Both beginning and experienced chess players gather weekly to receive instruction and to play others of similar ability.

Choir: 5th & 6th Grade Choir – The 5th & 6th Choir is built into the general music curriculum and meets during the school day.

Choir: Parish Children’s ChoirThe Parish Children’s Choir is an extracurricular vocal music ensemble that welcomes all children from the school and the parish between the ages of 9 and 14 with unchanged voices. They rehearse after school and sing monthly at the Church of Saint Agnes.

Little Flowers Club – Little Flowers is a group for mothers and daughters in grades K-6 to learn together about the saints, virtues, the Catholic faith and the Church. Each meeting includes a lesson, crafts, snacks, and time to socialize.

Advisors:  Arika Heffron and Kristin Coyne

Liturgical Ministry – Liturgical Ministry offers students the chance to serve in the rich traditions of the Catholic Church and to offer glory to God. Young men serve as lectors, altar servers, and ushers.

Mythology Club (inactive for 2016-17) – The Mythology Club is open to grades 5-7 and gathers weekly to enjoy fascinating stories from ancient Greece and Rome (with potential expansion to Norse and American Indian stories). Weekly meetings include readings, discussions, activities, and the occasional treat. Club members also have the opportunity to prepare for the National Mythology Exam (for which 2013’s theme is “Perseus and Mythological Monsters”) and for the Medusa Mythology Exam (for which 2013’s theme is “Trojan War: Life and Death on Trojan Soil”).

Saint Agnes TSG Troop 121 – Open to boys in grades 1-12, TSG (Troops of Saint George) Troop 121 seeks to follow the tradition of outdoorsmanship coupled with virtue, honor, purity, and reverence for God.  Troop 121 promotes character development, an appreciation for nature, mental and physical fitness, and developing good Catholic men, through hands on experiences and outdoor adventures.  Adults are mentors while the leadership comes from the youth.

Spring Musical – The Saint Agnes Spring Musical offers students who love to sing, dance, and act the opportunity to perform. It is open to all students in grades 2-12 and is regarded as one of the best productions in the area.
