Last week, the Equity and Opportunity Scholarship Act (SF 1872) was heard in the Minnesota Senate. The hearing and a press conference afterwards featured parents, students, educators, the Senate Majority Leader, and the bill’s author, and received attention and media coverage across the entire state. Momentum is building to help make a positive difference for Minnesota students.
As you know, Opportunity Scholarships will help families send their children to the school that is the best fit for them. No child should be denied a good education because of their ZIP code or their family’s financial situation.
But to move this bill forward, we need everyone to speak up. Please visit the Opportunity for All Kids (OAK) Action Center, where you can easily send an email to your representatives and the Governor. Lawmakers are watching to see which issues matter to their constituents – please make sure your support for Minnesota’s students is loud and clear.
Thank you in advance for your action and support of this important legislation.
